MISSION
We GO out into our worlds to perpetuate all the goodness of God that we ourselves enjoy.
We want to love and serve our community! The bridge is all about this! LifeGroups benefit when they expand their focus beyond themselves. That’s because groups that look outward and seek to help others behave like Jesus did! We love and serve our neighbours together.
Take time to watch this video with your LifeGroup together or send it prior to meeting.
Go around and discuss as a LifeGroup how you served the community this past year.
If your LifeGroup did not have an opportunity to serve together last year, go through the following:
- Consider one of the following ideas below or come up with one as a group.
- Discuss the barriers that prevented the LifeGroup from serving and come up with ideas to navigate those this year.
- Assign someone as the Missions Lead in your LifeGroup if you haven’t already done so. (View Missions Lead description here.)
activities

Mission Fund
Consider setting aside money from each member either weekly or monthly to go into the mission fund. As it collects, share the funds with organizations (great way if you work for an organization that matches your donations for an organization) or consider using it to buy gift cards for Christmas Cheer or helping out at the Crisis Pregnancy Centre, Markham Food Bank, Centre For Dreams or one of our local or global missionaries.
Compassion Canada
Consider sponsoring a child together as a LifeGroup. Click for information on how to get started.
Every Child Matters
Consider putting together a letter like this to your local MP to bring awareness of the systemic racism of Indigenous people and bringing to light the unmarked graves of children found in the residential schools. Here is an example of a LifeGroup Leader who put together a letter to mail to religious and government officials. Click here for a letter template.
Online Prayer Gatherings
Consider registering for one of the three prayer gatherings the bridge holds every week. Prayer gatherings meet every Wednesday morning, Thursday lunch hour, and Sunday morning.

Coldest Night of the Year
Consider raising funds and planning to participate in the 1 km, 5 km or 10 km Coldest Night of the Year walk, which is held in February each year. Registration to come in 2022.
Neighbourhood Love
Talk about the impact of Neighbourhood Love or have group members share the types of missional opportunities they have experienced to encourage others.
Discussion Questions + Prayer
Here are the sermon-based Discussion Questions and prayer practice for this week.
